Frequently Asked Questions
What makes CSPC different?
We focus on long-term results, not quick fixes.
At Cincinnati Sports & Performance Center, we take the time to truly listen and understand what you’re experiencing and what you want to get back to doing. Our goal isn’t just to reduce pain temporarily — it’s to help you build a stronger, more resilient body so the problem doesn’t keep coming back.
Your care is individualized and active.
Rather than simply relying on adjustments alone, we combine the best elements of chiropractic care, rehabilitation, and strength training to create a plan tailored specifically to you.
We prioritize honesty, clarity, and your goals.
We believe you deserve to understand what’s going on with your body and why you’re doing each part of your treatment plan. If something falls outside our scope, we’ll be transparent and help guide you toward the right solution. Ultimately, our care is goal-driven — whether that means returning to sport, getting back to the gym, or simply moving through daily life without pain.
What should I expect during my first visit?
Your first visit starts with a conversation.
We’ll take time to sit down and talk so we can fully understand what you’re experiencing. This includes discussing your symptoms, your training or activity level, what you’ve tried in the past, and what has or hasn’t worked for you.
Next, we perform a thorough movement and physical assessment.
This includes evaluating the joints involved, the surrounding muscles and soft tissues, as well as areas above and below the primary issue that may be contributing. We assess mobility, strength, and movement patterns so we have objective measures to track your progress throughout treatment.
Together, we’ll build a plan and begin moving forward.
Based on what we find, we’ll determine the best course of action together. Treatment often includes hands-on care along with targeted rehabilitation exercises. CSPC is not a passive clinic — be prepared to actively participate in the process of getting better.
Do I need to be in pain to come in?
Care at CSPC isn’t just about reacting to pain — it’s also about preventing injury.
Many people come in before pain becomes the main issue because something feels tight, restricted, or simply “off.” Addressing these small limitations early can help prevent them from turning into bigger problems later.
We also work with people who want to move and perform better.
Whether your goal is to improve your squat, move more efficiently in the gym, lose weight, or simply feel stronger and more capable in everyday life, our approach is built around helping you move better and build a more resilient body.
Do you only perform chiropractic adjustments?
Adjustments are a powerful tool, but they’re only one part of the process.
When appropriate, chiropractic adjustments can help improve joint mobility and reduce irritation in the surrounding tissues. However, if an adjustment is no longer necessary, there’s no reason to continue performing them.
We use multiple tools to help you move and feel better.
In addition to adjustments, treatment may include soft tissue therapy, targeted rehabilitation exercises, and corrective strength work. The goal is to address the underlying movement limitations contributing to your symptoms and help you build a stronger, more resilient body.
How many visits will I need?
Every person and every situation is different.
Each injury, goal, and individual responds differently to care. Some issues resolve fairly quickly, while others take more time and a structured plan. During your evaluation, we’ll determine the approach that makes the most sense for your specific situation.
Our goal is progress and independence.
Treatment is designed to help you improve, build strength, and develop the tools needed to manage your body confidently. The goal is not to create long-term dependence on passive treatments, but to help you move toward independence and long-term resilience.
Do you work with athletes?
Yes — we work with athletes and active individuals of all levels.
This includes lifters, runners, CrossFit athletes, team sport athletes, and anyone who enjoys staying active. Whether your goal is to get out of pain, move better, improve performance, or stay consistent with training, our approach is built around helping you continue doing what you enjoy.
From youth athletes to weekend warriors and professionals.
We work with individuals across the entire spectrum — from youth athletes developing their movement foundation, to competitive athletes, to active adults who train simply because they enjoy it. No matter the level, the goal is the same: helping you move better, stay healthy, and perform at your best.
What conditions do you commonly treat?
We treat a wide range of musculoskeletal injuries and movement-related conditions.
While many people associate chiropractic care primarily with the spine, we do commonly help patients with issues such as lower back pain, neck pain, and mid-back tightness. However, our approach extends well beyond the spine.
We also work with many joint and movement-related issues.
Shoulder, hip, knee, and ankle problems are very common among the active adults and athletes we work with. If it’s a joint that moves and isn’t functioning the way it should, there’s a good chance we can help.
Other conditions we frequently see include:
Headaches, plantar fasciitis, golfer’s elbow, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, and other overuse or sport-related injuries.
What do I wear to my first appointment?
Wear comfortable, athletic-style clothing.
During your first visit we’ll perform movement assessments and evaluate how your body moves through different ranges of motion, so clothing that allows you to move comfortably works best.
Choose clothing that allows access to the area being evaluated.
Shorts, athletic pants, and t-shirts are great options. For shoulder, neck, or upper back issues, tank tops or sports bras can make treatment and movement assessment easier. It doesn’t need to be a full workout outfit — just something you’re comfortable moving and working in.
Do you accept insurance?
We do not bill insurance directly.
However, many patients are still able to use their out-of-network benefits depending on their insurance plan.
We provide the documentation needed for reimbursement.
After your visit, we can provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company. Depending on your specific out-of-network benefits, you may receive partial reimbursement or have the visit applied toward your deductible.
Reimbursement is determined by your individual insurance plan.
Because every policy is different, we recommend contacting your insurance provider directly if you would like to understand your out-of-network benefits before submitting a claim.
Why are you “out-of-network” or cash based?
This is a purposeful decision that allows us to provide the highest quality care possible.
Operating outside of insurance networks allows us to spend more time with each patient and create treatment plans that are truly individualized to your needs rather than restricted by insurance limitations.
Your care is guided by results, not insurance rules.
Without a third-party dictating what treatments are covered or how visits must be structured, we are able to focus on what will actually help you improve. This often includes a combination of hands-on treatment, soft tissue work, and more comprehensive rehabilitation strategies.
This allows us to prioritize quality and outcomes.
Our focus is on helping you get better and stay better. By removing insurance restrictions, we can concentrate on delivering care that is goal-driven, individualized, and focused on long-term results rather than simply meeting reimbursement requirements.
Do you accept HSA/FSA?
Yes — HSA and FSA cards are accepted.
Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) can typically be used for chiropractic and rehabilitation services.
You can use your HSA/FSA card just like a regular payment card.
If you plan to use one of these accounts, simply let us know and we can place the card on file or use it at the time of your visit just like any other debit or credit card.
Still have questions?
