Dry Needling

What Is It?

Dry needling is a technique used to treat tight or irritated muscles by targeting specific areas of tension, often referred to as trigger points.

It’s commonly used to relieve muscle tightness, improve mobility, and reduce pain.

How Does It Work?

A thin needle is inserted into the affected muscle (similar to acupuncture) to help it relax and reset.

This helps reduce muscle tension, improve blood flow, and decrease sensitivity in the area. You may feel a quick twitch or deep ache, which is normal and typically short-lived.

In some cases, we pair dry needling with gentle electrical stimulation (e-stim), where a small current is applied through the needles. This can further enhance muscle relaxation, improve activation, and provide a stronger therapeutic effect.

Dry needling is often combined with other treatments like movement rehab and soft tissue work to create longer-lasting results.

How Can It Help Me?

Dry needling can be an effective way to reduce muscle tension and improve how your body moves.

It can help you:

  • Decrease muscle tightness and soreness
  • Improve range of motion
  • Reduce pain in targeted areas
  • Move more comfortably during daily activity and exercise
