Neck Pain

Pain, stiffness, or tension in the neck that can affect movement, sleep, and daily activity

What it is

Neck pain can range from mild stiffness to sharp, limiting pain that affects your ability to turn your head or get comfortable.

A lot of people blame posture—but posture alone isn’t the issue.
More often, it’s a lack of movement, strength, and tolerance to the positions you spend the most time in.

In some cases, there may be irritation in the joints, discs, or surrounding muscles—but even then, the bigger issue is usually how your neck and upper back are handling stress over time.

Why you’re experiencing it

Neck pain is rarely just about the neck itself.

In most cases, it’s influenced by a combination of:

  • Prolonged sitting or screen time
  • Limited movement variability (staying in the same position too long)
  • Weakness in the neck and upper back
  • Stress and muscle tension
  • Limited mobility through the mid back

When the upper back isn’t doing its job, the neck often ends up taking on more stress than it should.

How it shows up

You might notice:

  • Stiffness when turning your head
  • Pain with looking up or down
  • Tension at the base of the skull
  • Tightness in the traps or shoulders
  • Headaches that build throughout the day

Symptoms often get worse the longer the day goes on, especially with desk work or screen time.

How we help

At CSPC, we focus on more than just relieving tension—we improve how your neck functions under stress.

Your plan is built around:

  • Reducing irritation and muscle tension
  • Improving neck and upper back mobility
  • Building strength and endurance in the neck
  • Addressing posture through movement
  • Increasing your tolerance to daily positions

The goal is to help you move freely without constantly feeling tight or restricted.
