Pain on the inside, outside, or back of the elbow, often with gripping, lifting, or repetitive use
What it is
Elbow pain—like “tennis elbow” or “golfer’s elbow”—is usually a load problem, not just inflammation.
It happens when the tissues around the elbow are being asked to handle more than they’re prepared for.
In some cases, this involves irritation or overload of the tendons—but the bigger issue is usually how much stress is being placed on them over time.
Why you’re experiencing it
This typically builds over time from repetitive stress.
Common causes include:
- Repetitive gripping or lifting
- Overuse from sports or training
- Poor load distribution through the arm
- Weakness in the forearm, shoulder, or upper back
- Sudden increases in activity
Even though the pain is at the elbow, the root cause often involves how the entire arm is working.
How it shows up
You might notice:
- Pain gripping objects
- Pain with lifting or pulling
- Tenderness around the elbow
- Weakness in the forearm
- Pain that lingers after activity
Left alone, this can become something that keeps coming back.
How we help
At CSPC, we focus on rebuilding tolerance—not just calming symptoms.
Your plan is built around:
- Reducing irritation and pain
- Gradually reloading the area
- Strengthening the forearm and surrounding muscles
- Addressing upstream issues (shoulder, mechanics)
- Building long-term capacity
The goal is to get you back to using your arm without constantly worrying about pain.
